Birth of a Skyscraper Tour

The earliest skyscrapers were born out of the same 'broad shoulder' attitude grew the city of Chicago out of the ashes of the Great Fire. On this architecture tour you'll visit the best collection of 1880's and 1890's skyscrapers in the world. You'll learned about the trials for early builders, the styles that made the city famous, and spirit of a people that took a swamp in the midwest and turned it into a metropolis!

Mitch offers the Skyscraper tour most Saturday mornings at 10:30am. 
 

Start Location: Outside west entrance of the Sears Tower (Willis Tower)

End Location: Grant Park, near Buckingham Fountain

Duration:  1.5 hours. Total walking is 1.3 miles (2.25 km).

When: 10:30AM. Tours are on U.S. Central Standard Time.

Cost: This tour is free to take, and you get to decide what, if anything, the tour was worth when it's done.
